Source:Source: HayGroup, Comparing Operational Efficiency of Ontario Hospitals with Hospitals in Other Provinces, November 2010 using 2008/09 CIHI hospital data and hospital-reported MIS Chart of Accounts data. The comparison is based on a sample of 21 Ontario hospitals and 20 non-Ontario hospital sites.
Note:Emergency Department (ED) visit counts are adjusted to account for inpatient cases who stay in the ED. One inpatient is equivalent to four ED visits.
